New oil
painting of Jay Leno by Ron Keas
I live in Lucerne, California, located
on the edge of the largest Lake in California - Clear Lake. My nature
photography of Clear Lake and Lake County appears in magazines, advertising,
billboards, calendars, and in local websites. When I'm not
photographing the beauty of Lake County, I'm busy with my artwork in the
form of oil paintings.
Last year I sent a print of one
of my paintings to Jay Leno. It was a painting of a man on an Indian
Motorcycle. (pictured below) To my surprise, I received a phone call
from Jay complimenting me on my artwork. To be complimented by Jay
Leno was a life changing event for me, and it inspired me to paint a series
of 30 Obama oil paintings over the next year.
I just finished a painting of Jay
Leno. He loves his cars, and his collection includes Antiques Bentley
Bugatti Classics, Corvette ,Custom Built, EcoJet, Duesenberg,
Electric, Hot Rods, Hybrids, Luxury Cars, Motorcycles,
Muscle Cars, Sports Cars, Steam Cars, Super Cars,
Trucks and Vintage Cars. I decided to round out Jays' car collection
with a 24x36"oil painting of him driving a very special 1950 Vintage car
( Jay was born in 1950) In the painting he is seen driving in front
of NBC Studios in Burbank, California.
My intention is that this painting
will express Jay's passion for cars, while depicting the sense of humor
he is known for Worldwide. Here is the finished painting. Jay
is driving a 1950 Champion.
